For the proper development and for providing better service to the beneficiaries, BIOTECH is conducting regular Research and Development Programmes on Bio Energy and Waste Management. Through the R & D work of BIOTECH team, under the leadership of the Director Dr. A. SAJIDAS, many inventions had since been made to improve the schemes and projects related with waste management and generation of Bio Energy from waste.

Apart from this, a joint R & D programme had also been conducted in association with M/s Sandec / Eawag of Switzerland for the detailed study of the performance of the waste to electricity plant installed by BIOTECH in Sreekariyam Grama Panchayat. Mr. Florian a research student from Switzerland was working in BIOTECH for a period of 4 months for conducting this R & D programme. Similar joint R & D programmes are proposed to be implemented in future also on different areas, in association and co-operation with Mr. Sandec (Switzerland) and other similar Institutions.

Many students from different Universities are visiting BIOTECH regularly for short term studies related with their higher studies on Waste Management.
